Daydream Nation Tour
In June of 1997, Rod Wellington ambitiously set off on his first full-fledged, zero emissions expedition: a mammoth, 8642km crossing of Canada by bicycle. Beginning in Vancouver, British Columbia and ending at Cape Spear, Newfoundland (North America’s most easterly point, 20 km east of St. John’s), this 15-week journey still stands as Rod’s longest self-powered, zero emissions achievement. The tour’s name, borrowed from the seminal 1988 Sonic Youth album of the same name, also reflects Rod’s own headspace prior to, and during the journey.
